Rode Microphones
The following are recommended best practices for both instructor and student for clear audio. The supplied Rode Microphone should be your preferred mic input.
- In Zoom’s settings click on the small arrow next to the microphone icon in the lower left of the screen, and in the Microphone section of the menu Select a Microphone>Realtek High Definition Audio.
- Although not the preferred input, should you forget your Rode or the batteries become drained you can alternatively use the Owl microphone. The Owl mic can pick up room audio from 12’ - 18’ away. To use the Owl mic, In Zoom’s settings click on the small arrow next to the microphone icon in the lower left of the screen, and in the Microphone section of the menu Select a Microphone>Meeting Owl Pro.
- Do not remove the red cable from the Rode receiver.
- Be sure to recharge your Rode mic and receiver with the supplied USB cables after each day of use. The Rode mic and receiver will each last up to 8 hours on a charge
- If you are using a mask and face shield it may be necessary to speak clearly and loudly.
- The Rode microphone will work best at picking your voice but probably not others in the room, so repeat your questions if possible.
