How do I create an advisee note?

Navigate to Advising Tile -> Advising Center-> Notes link

 

Can I edit an advisee note?

No.  After the note is submitted, you cannot update what was saved.  However, you can add additional items or attachments that will be appended to the note.

 

I noticed there is only one category, academic advisement, could we have additional categories?

Yes, please contact me or submit a ticket to the help desk.  We will review all submitted requests for categories and update for Spring 2020.

 

Can we add or change subcategories?

What about the old notes that I entered for a student?

They have been moved to the new advising notes in MyKU.

 

Can students add notes?

No.  Students cannot add notes.

 

Can my advisee see notes that I created?

Yes.  They would go to academic progress tile, then click on Advisors.  If you have a note, a note icon will appear next to advisor name.

 

I do not want my advisee to see my note, how would I make them private?

On the Update Note Information on the Advising Notes, change ‘Advisee Access’ to No.

 

I created a note for another student that is not my advisee, how does the student see the note?

You must assign the note to the student’s advisor.  On the Update Note Information on the Advising Notes, change ‘Assigned To’ to the student’s advisor.
