Call Handling

Receive a Call
  • Lift the handset

Or

  • Press Speakerphoneor Headsetor Answer softkey

Or

  • Press the flashing session button
Place a Call
  • Lift handset and enter phone number

Or

  • Enter the phone number and press Speakerphoneor Headsetor Call softkey 

NOTES

  • To dial an outside (non-KU) number, first dial 7
  • To dial an international number, dial 7 011 followed by the country code and local number you wish to call
Hold / Resume a Call
  • Press Hold 
  • Press the flashing session button, Hold  or the Resume softkey 

Take Another Call While on a Call

  • Press the flashing session button to automatically place current call on hold and answer the incoming call
  • Press the flashing session button of another connected call to resume that call
Transfer a Call
  • Press the Transfer button
  • Dial the number you want to transfer the call to
  • To speak with the person you are transferring the call to, wait for them to answer
  • When ready, press the Transfer button again to transfer to call

 

NOTES

  1. To transfer a call directly to a person’s voicemail, press * prior to their extension
Initiate Conference Call
  • Call the first participant
  • Once connected, press Conference  or Conference softkey
  • Dial the next participant
  • Press Conference 
  • Repeat to add more participants

 

NOTES

  1. You can hold a conference call with up to 15 other participants
  2. If you hang up, the other participants will remain in conference
Forward All Calls
  • Press the Forward all softkey
  • Dial the number you want to forward calls to

Or

  • Press the messages button to forward all calls to voicemail
  • Listen for one confirmation beep

    NOTE
    You may only forward to an internal extension
Stop Forwarding All Calls
  • Press the Forward off softkey
Review Call Lists
  • Press Applications button
  • Use the navigation pad to select Recents
  • Scroll through the list
  • Press the Call softkey to dial a number
  • Press the Exit softkey when done
Clear Call Lists
  • While accessing recent calls as described above
  • Press the More softkey then press the Clear List softkey  

 

Call Parking

Parking a Call
  • Press the softkey, then Park softkey
  • Give the park number shown on the phone display to the person who will pick up the parked call

NOTE
The park number will be in the range of 85000 - 85199

Picking up a Parked Call
  • Dial the park number you wish to pick up from any phone in the organization


Voicemail

Initial Setup or Forgotten Voicemail PIN Please contact the IT Help Center at x31511 for assistance.
Change Voicemail PIN
  • Press Messages
  • Enter your PIN and press #
  • Press 4 for Setup Options
  • Press 3 for Preferences
  • Press 1 to Change PIN
  • Enter your new PIN and press #
  • Enter your new PIN again and press #

Access Voicemail from Your Desk Phone
  • Press Messages
  • Enter your PIN and press #
Access Voicemail from Another Desk Phone
  • Press Messages
  • Press *
  • Enter your extension and press #

Access a Specific Voicemail Box
  • Press Messages
  • Press *
  • Enter the desired mailbox number and press #

Access Voicemail from Off Campus
  • Dial 484-646-5959
  • Enter your extension and press #

Reset your Recorded Name
  • Press Messages
  • Enter your PIN and press #
  • Press 4 for Setup Options
  • Press 3 for Preferences
  • Press 2 for Recorded Name
  • If you have a name recorded, the system will play it back. To keep an existing name, press *
  • To record a new name, wait for the tone. Say your name and press # to end the recording. 
  • The system will play back the new recording. Press * to save it. 

Change and Enable Alternate (holiday) Greeting
  • Press Messages
  • Enter your PIN and press #
  • Press 4 for Setup Options
  • Press 1 for Greeting Options
  • Press 2 to Enable Alternate Greeting
  • To set an end date press 1, or # to enable indefinitely
  • To record the alternate greeting press 1

Transferring Voicemail to Another Person's Voicemail
  • Listen to voicemail message
  • Press 5 to forward
  • Spell the person’s name

Or

  • Press ## and the person’s number
Bypass Voicemail Greeting - Leave Message Immediately
  • Press # at any time while listening to the greeting
  • Leave message and hang up
Leaving Voicemail Without Calling
  • Press * then dial the person’s number
  • Leave message and hang up


Hunt Group Specific Instructions

Description
  • The primary line on the phone handset is your personal extension.  Any outbound calls from this line will present your personal line Caller ID.
  • The secondary line on the phone is tied to the Hunt Group.  Any outbound calls from this line will present the department Caller ID.  Use this line to make outbound calls on behalf of the department.
Log in/out of hunt group
  • Press the Line button next to the Hunt Group Icon



  • Indicates Logged In


  • Indicates Logged Out
Queue Status
  • Press the button next to the Queue Status button
  • This allows you to see the number of callers currently in queue.


Voicemail PIN Requirements

A non-trivial phone PIN has the following attributes:

  • The PIN cannot match the numeric representation of the first or last name of the user.
  • The PIN cannot contain the primary extension or alternate extensions of the user.
  • The PIN cannot contain the reverse of the primary extension or alternate extensions of the user.
  • The PIN cannot contain groups of repeated digits, such as “408408” or “123123.”
  • The PIN cannot contain only two different digits, such as “121212.”
  • A digit cannot be used more than two times consecutively (for example, “28883”).
  • The PIN cannot be an ascending or descending group of digits (for example, “012345” or “987654”).
  • The PIN cannot contain a group of numbers that are dialed in a diagonal, vertical or horizontal straight line on the phone keypad (for example, the user cannot use "159", "159730", "147", "147365", "123" or "123597" as a PIN.

A non-trivial web application password has the following attributes:

  • The password must contain at least three of the following four characters: an uppercase character, a lowercase character, a number, or a symbol.
  • The password cannot contain the user alias or its reverse.
  • The password cannot contain the primary extension or any alternate extensions.
  • A character cannot be used more than three times consecutively (for example, !Cooool).
  • The characters cannot all be consecutive, in ascending or descending order (for example, abcdef or fedcba).
