Overview
Panorama is an accessibility tool used by Kutztown University to provide course materials in alternative formats.
Content items and certain text areas (such as Announcements) will display an icon indicating the content’s accessibility score. This icon can be clicked to generate alternate formats.
Alternative Formats Menu
Available Formats
- Source File shows the original file without any conversion.
- PDF generates a PDF of the content.
- Text File displays the content in plain text.
- EPUB generates a document for use with e-readers.
- Audio Podcast generates an audio version of the text.
Immersive Reader
- Immersive Reader opens a customizable display that highlights text and reads it aloud.
- The Aa icon at the top right corner can be used to control text size, spacing, font, and background color.
- The Paragraph icon in the top right corner can be used to mark syllables and color code or label parts of speech.
- The Bookmark icon can be used to define focus settings, which show more or fewer lines while reading.
Gradient Reader
- Gradient Reader displays text in color, helping to differentiate sentences.
- The icon in the top right corner can be used to control the color shift and add or remove colors from the gradient.
Enhanced HTML
- Enhanced HTML displays the text in a new window and offers some customization via the icon in the bottom right.
- The Adjustments menu can be used to apply accessibility profiles tailored for specific disabilities, make color adjustments, and make content adjustments.
- The Preferences menu can hide the icon for the session, day, or permanently.
- The Profiles menu will store any saved custom profiles from the Adjustments menu.
- Language translations provide the content in other languages.
OCR Formats
- OCR Formats provide various formats for scanned text.
- OCR Overlaid PDF displays the original document with searchable text.
- OCR Reconstructed PDF recreates the document in a text format.
- OCR HTML displays the scanned content in rich text.
- OCR Text displays the scanned content in plain text.
- OCR Immersive Reader and OCR Gradient Reader provide the features described above for scanned content.
- OCR Audio provides an audio version of the scanned content.
- OCR Semantic Text converts scanned text into readable, structured text while preserving context and layout.
OCR Semantic Audio converts the scanned text into audio with improved intonation and emphasis.
Braille Formats
- Braille formats provide the content in Braille Grade 2 BRF and UEB formats.
